ABOUT APFNET
The Asia-Pacific Network for Sustainable Forest Management and Rehabilitation (APFNet), is an international non-profit organization dedicated to advancing sustainable forest management and rehabilitation in the Asia-Pacific region.
We, in close collaboration with members and partners, address regional challenges through forest-related actions, supported by financing demonstration projects, facilitating policy dialogues, fostering capacity building, and sharing information and knowledge.
We are looking for motivated and energetic young talents with a strong interest in international organizations and a desire to grow in this field. This position offers the chance to gain hands-on experience in international communication and cooperation, working alongside a supportive and experienced team. Final-year students (Class of 2027) or recent graduates are also welcome to join us initially as interns.
POSITION: Project Officer
LOCATION: Beijing, China
TYPE: Full time
MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Coordinate the appraisal for project concept notes and project proposals;
- Support the planning and design of projects;
- Manage a number of APFNet-funded projects;
- Support the monitoring and evaluation activities;
- Coordinate with partners to organize various events;
- Other tasks assigned.
REQUIREMENTS
- A master's degree or above;
- A major in forestry, ecology, environmental science, or a related field;
- Good verbal and written communication skills in both English and Chinese;
- Prior experience in related fields (a plus);
- Ability to communicate effectively with working team and other stakeholders;
- Cultural sensitivity and ability to respect and work well with people from different cultural, backgrounds and disciplines;
- Self-motivated with teamwork spirit
