Position Summary Plante & Moran, PLLC is the 12th largest accounting and management consulting firm in the United States. Our rapid growth and increasing demands for our services have created a need for a highly motivated individual to join our Global Services team as an Assurance staff member in our Shanghai, China office. Your work will include, but not be limited to: • Technical Responsibilities o Perform key phases of an audit, including planning and risk identification, internal control review and testing, substantive audit procedures, engagement wrap-up, and financial statement preparation o Perform other attest services, including compilations and reviews. o Research and conclude on various accounting and audit issues in accordance with United States Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (US GAAP) and United States Generally Accepted Auditing Standards (US GAAS) o Research and conclude on various accounting and audit issues in accordance with PRC generally accepted accounting principles and PRC CPA Auditing Standards o General understanding of PRC tax requirements o Opportunities for fellowships in other service groups, for example, management consulting, transaction due diligence, and forensic accounting • Relationship Building o Participate in internal and external networking events, including client meetings, industry events, etc. o Immediate opportunity to work directly with Seniors, Managers, Senior Managers, and Partners internally, and Accounting Managers, Controllers, and C-Suite individuals externally • Firm Contributions o Participate in annual CORE training program which focuses on development of core competencies to facilitate your growth at the firm o Opportunities to be involved in various non-billable initiatives, including on and buddy system/mentoring program, development of thought leadership content, etc. Qualifications: • Bachelor's degree or higher in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. • Approximately 6–12 months of audit experience preferred, or equivalent full-time internship experience in a public accounting firm. • Progress towards or partial completion of the CICPA or USCPA certification is highly preferred. • Proficiency in English, with the ability to use it as a working language for written and verbal communication. • Think analytically to respond to complex inquiries • Understand and apply audit theories and procedures • Ability to identify and resolve audit issues • Assist in the efforts to manage day to day activities of the engagement and effectively meet and exceed the client needs and expectations • Enjoy complex and challenging project work and willing to work on a variety of strategic, financial, and operational projects • Highly motivated and take ownership of personal and professional growth and development • Ability to successfully prioritize and handle multiple tasks • Ability to successfully interact with clients and other professionals to effectively deliver quality professional services to clients • Client service orientation combined with creative problem solving skills; strong written and oral communication skills; the ability to work effectively as part of a team, yet function well with independent responsibilities • Ability to travel locally, nationally and occasionally internationally Working Hours & Travel: • This is a position that may require some overtime during the workweek, especially at busy season. • This position also requires flexibility to travel, usually between 10%-30%. Compensation: Paid monthly, 13 months + bonus. Salary range: RMB 10, 000 to 12,000 monthly Years of Experience: Previous experience in audit is not mandatory. 6–12 months of recent experience in public accounting, or equivalent full-time internship experience What makes us different?
